John W. Bencsik, age 61, of Manhattan passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at his home. John leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years Carrie (nee Estes), his devoted children Christopher (Becca) Bencsik, Cara (Matt) Benner and Becca (Bradley) Bass, his adoring grandchildren Emmy and Ellie Bencsik and Luke and Sawyer Benner, his brother Jeff (Carrie) Bencsik, his sister Susan (Tyrone) Roberts, nieces, nephews, and many friends. John was a graduate of Hinsdale South High School and held various positions including starting a family business and most recently was a salesman for Carroll Distributing. His favorite pastimes were taking in a Chicago White Sox game, watching Hockey, listening to AM radio (mostly sports) gardening, and taking care of his animals but mostly John loved his family, spending time with them is what brought him the most joy. John had the gift of gab; he was commonly called the "Mayor" as he would talk to anyone. He was a likable, social, friendly, and outgoing guy who made friends everywhere he went. John was a loving husband, devoted dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for John will be on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 4-7:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. An informal time of sharing will take place the same evening at 7:00 P.M.
