Obituary

John Williams Age 84, of Manhattan, IL passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at Miller Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Kankakee, IL. Born February 24, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Mary (nee Bregovy) Williams. Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. Member of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles and the St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a certified scuba diver and a member of the Chicago Seahorses. John was a proud union steward for Litton and Boeing, having worked for over fifty years. He loved to travel, camp, and enjoy the outdoors with his family. Surviving are three daughers, Nannette (Dave) Marszalek of Lowell, IN, Paulette (Randy) Domagalla of Manhattan, and Jeannette (Ron) Siemers of Hayward, WI; five grandchildren, Ashley (Travis) Zupan, Cody Marszalek, Joshua Myers, Kyle Siemers and Kevin Siemers; two sisters, Dolly (nee Bennette) Majerczyk of Tinley Park, IL and Jackie Pavelich of Orland Park, IL; one great-grand child on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were the love of his life, his beloved wife, Dorothy (nee Pavelich) Williams, whom he married April 12, 1958 in Chicago; and one uncle, Charles Bregovy. Funeral services will be from the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. to the St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Visitation Friday, January 6, from 3-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name to the Hospice of Kankakee Valley or the Alzheimers Association would be appreciated.
