Jose Angel Justiniano Sr., age 83, of McHenry, passed away peacefully on November 8 th 2024, at his daughter's home with his loving family at his side. Survived by his children Jose Angel Justiniano Jr. and Alicia (Daniel) Vazquez, his grandchildren Christina Murla, Vincent Justiniano, Stephanie (Chris) Shields, Alissya Vazquez, Nathaniel Vazquez, and Katelyn Justiniano, his siblings Carlos (Lucy) Justiniano, Fidel (Carmen) Justiniano, Rene (Betty) Justiniano, and Ivan (Jose) Justiniano and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Basilisa "Alicia" Justiniano, his parents Fidel and Cecelia Justiniano, his son Jose Alberto Justiniano Master, and his siblings Ilda, Alba, Ali, Irving and Moncho. Jose was born in Puerto Rico. He graduated from high school in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Jose moved to the United States in 1963. He served his country with the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He later owned and operated his own business named Jose's Auto Service in Chicago. Jose dedicated his life to bringing the rest of his family to the U.S. He was a true trailblazer for his and his wife's side of the family, moving them into his own house, helping them to find their way in this country and helping them to establish a successful life here. Jose's number one priority was his family. He also thoroughly enjoyed the New York Yankees, politics and CNN. Jose and Alicia created a beautiful life here in the United States, together was their favorite place to be. Visitation for Jose will take place on November 20, 2024 from 10:00a.m. - 12:30p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the same day at 12:30p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will immediately follow at 2:30 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL where Jose with then be reunited with his wife Alicia.
