Obituary

Joseph J. Blatti, known affectionately to all as Joe, lived a life that was nothing short of extraordinary. Born on August 19, 1964 in Joliet, Joe's journey came full circle as he passed away in the same town on February 10, 2025. His life was a testament to the power of passion, dedication, and the pursuit of adventure.

Survived by daughters Stephanie (Alfredo Montoya) and Ashley Blatti, mother Maryian Blatti-Sellin (nee Moreno), the mother of his children Nicole Blatti, siblings Kelly (Dave) A. Andrew and Doug (Kathy) M. Blatti Jr., grandchildren Nicholas, Anthony, Mariah, Cyrena, Angelo, Arsenio, Armani, Brayden, Alexandrea, and Ariel, and niece Brie-Anna Andrew. Preceded in death by father Douglas Blatti Sr., son Tommy Blatti, step-father Robert Sellin, maternal grandparents Frank and Lucille Moreno, paternal grandparents Lewis and Mary Blatti, brother Ted in infancy, nephew Nathan Andrew, uncles Tony R. Moreno and Paul D. Moreno, aunts Arley L. Francke (nee Moreno) and Maureen "Renie" Moreno (nee Schofield), and many Blatti aunts and uncles.

Joe attended Lincoln-Way Central High School. His hands were those of a creator and a fixer. As an iron worker and mechanic, he shaped the world with strength and precision. His talents didn't stop there; he was the man who could fix everything. His love for music led him to become a skilled guitar tech and a music producer, touching the lives of many with the melodies he helped bring to life. Joe's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as he successfully ran his own business, and he shared his knowledge and love for firearms as a range instructor.

His interests painted the picture of a man who lived life in the fast lane—quite literally. Joe raced cars and bikes, feeling the rush of the wind and the thrill of speed. A gun fanatic at heart, he also found harmony in the strings of guitars and the keys of pianists, showcasing his musical talents. Riding Harley motorcycles was not just a hobby but a way of life for Joe, and through it all, his love for his kids and grandkids remained his driving force.

Joe was the epitome of an adventurous soul, a wise guide, and an endlessly interesting companion. His life encourages us to dive headfirst into our passions, to embrace the wisdom in every experience, and to lead lives that are as captivating as his was. Joe's legacy is a reminder that life is not just to be lived—it's to be conquered with enthusiasm and a heart full of love.
