Obituary

Elizabeth "Joyce" Lee, age 77, of Elwood, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Dennis Flaum) Lee of Tamarac, FL., her sisters Shirley Rightmire and Gloria Milligan, her nieces; Kristy Cunningham, Vicki Milligan and Peggy Milligan, and her nephew, Dennis (Sue) Carbaugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Jean Gross and her husband of almost 50 years, George A. Lee (2014). Joyce was born in Oak Lawn, she went to nursing school after high school and worked at Bob Roberts Hospital in pediatrics. Later she went to industrial nursing at Corn Products where she met her husband George. After marrying and having their daughter Cindy, the family moved to a farm in Elwood. Joyce was a self taught "farm lady". It was at this farm where they were at their happiest in life finding great joy in gardening, tending their land and living a simple life. Visitation for Joyce will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 10-12:00p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Special words of remembrance will immediately follow.
