Joyce E. Quigley, age 79, of Manhattan, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at University of Chicago Hospital. Daughter of Emmett and Veronica (Deany) Quigley. Raised in Joliet, IL, graduate of St. Francis Academy 1964, St. Joseph School of Nursing 1967, and Northern Illinois University. Retired from St. Joseph Hospital Joliet after 45 years of service in pediatrics, labor and delivery, and birthing suites. Member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where she served as Eucharistic Minister, Illinois Nurses Association, Joliet Historical Society, and Will County Farm Bureau. Survived by her brothers Daniel (Francine) Quigley, David (Mary) Quigley, her sister Alice (David) Sylvester, nieces and nephews Lori (Robert) Walsh, Brian (Paul Ziller) Quigley, Steven (Adriana) Quigley, Jeffrey (Emily Rowe) Quigley, Carrie (Keith) Sincak, Kelly (Neil) Ryan, Raymond (Donnah) Surges, Matt Surges, Kara Sylvester, Matthew (Johanna Parker) Sylvester, Christine (Joseph) Suhadolc, and Sean Quigley. Numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins also survived. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Kevin Quigley, nephew Keith Quigley, and fiancé David Surdey. Visitation for Joyce will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 4-8:00pm at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the following day, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 beginning with prayers at 9:15am followed by procession to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Briggs St., Joliet, for 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington, immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 or to Les Turner ALS Foundation by visiting www.lesturnerals.org would be most appreciated.
