Judith "Judy" A. (nee Rago) Pet , age 68, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Mary (nee Mikula) Rago, her loving husband of over 49 years Bill, her two sons, Robert (Megan) Pet of Chicago, and Gregory (Melissa) Pet of Wilmington, her five grandchildren, Isabella, Victoria, Alexander, Preston, and Quinn, her brother, Joel Rago, her sister-in-law, Dawn Pet and her beloved canine companion Sasha. Preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Zenon and Josephine Pet, her brother-in-law, Zenon Pet, and her sister-in-law, Dianne Evans. Judy was a devoted employee at the Manhattan Elwood Library for over 25 years and served as the director for the last 15 years. She enjoyed traveling and reading, and she was an avid Bears fan. What brought the most joy to Judy's life was her five precious grandchildren, they were the light of her life and spending time with them meant everything. Visitation for Judy will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. We will be meeting for prayers on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Committal service and inurnment will immediately follow prayers on Friday, 12:00 Noon, from the funeral home in procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for 12:30 service in the cemetery shelter. Per Judy's wishes, she will be cremated immediately following her visitation. In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorial donations in Judy's name be made to her beloved Manhattan Elwood Library as these donations will carry on Judy's loyalty to the library.
