Karen S. Glester (nee Maertin), age 69 of Manhattan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Survived by her loving children Kristi (Adam) Capelli and Michael (Kelly) Glester, grandsons Josh and Luke Glester, siblings George (Ronnie) Maertin and Diane (William) Moncrief, nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents George and Agnes (nee Kuliak) Maertin and her brother Jeff Maertin. Karen graduated from Lincoln-Way High School and Joliet Junior College. Karen worked and retired from the phone company. Karen enjoyed gardening, working outside, crafting (especially her "Floozy Coozies") and hanging out with her girlfriends at the American Legion on Friday nights. Karen had a strong independent spirit and loved her family, especially her grandsons. She always loved angels and is now a guardian angel to all who knew and loved her. Memorial visitation for Karen will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 3-7:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the same evening at 7:00 P.M.
