Katherine Rose Huspek, age 101 of Elwood, IL and formerly of Berwyn and Willowbrook. She was born in Chicago on November 9th, 1923, and passed away peacefully at Ciel Senior Living in Plainfield, Il on September 15, 2025 with her family at her side.

She is survived by her daughter Phyllis Favicchio of Elwood, Il, a special nephew, Edward "Skip" (Laura) Vocaty of Plainfield, Il, her grandchildren – Lisa (Charles) Donnelly of Willis, Texas; Kristine (Joe) Oswald of Plano, Il; Frank (Kim) Favicchio of Buchanan, TN; "special grandchildren" Maria (Gibb) McClure of Woodstock, GA; Jolee (Mike) Altman of Channahon, IL and Carla Vocaty of Plainfield, Il. She was great grandmother to Aleesha Donnelly, Josh (Kristi) Jender, Danielle Jender, Joshua Donnelly (fiancée, Hannah Massey), Anthony (Ashley) Hernandez, Joseph Favicchio, Dominic Hernandez and Isabella Donnelly. Katherine was also great, great grandmother to Lily, Nicholas, Noah, Justus, Loyal, Caleb, Clara and had many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Huspek, her parents, Andrea and Isabella Lazzara, and 8 brothers and sisters. Katherine worked at Sears and for the Servite Fathers doing clerical work and she was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church in Manhattan, Il. Always a devout Catholic, her faith was her foundation. She was a lifelong member of the Sicilian Society of Maria S.S. Lauretana and never missed a chance to watch and root for her team, the Chicago Cubs! Katherine had a heart of gold. She was kind, generous, thoughtful, and gentle, but above all, she was selfless. Her smile was known to everyone, as Katherine never met a stranger.

Services for Katherine: Visitation will take place at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S State Street, Manhattan, Il on Saturday, September 20th, 9-11:30 a.m. prior to Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North Street, Manhattan, Il at 12 p.m. Private interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside Il on Monday, September 22nd, 2025.
