Kenneth A. Gerat, age 75, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He is survived by beloved wife of 52 years, Toni (nee Dileto), his sons, David (Jean), Ronald, and Richard Gerat, his grandson, Matthew and his sister, Lucy Cantu. Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary (nee Macak) Gerat. Ken was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and retired from Commonwealth Edison. A ham radio operator for many years, he enjoyed traveling around the country going to ham fests. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his grandson grow up. He was so proud of his sons who took over for him when he couldn't do things anymore himself. To his daughter-in-law, Jean, whom he called his favorite nurse, to his grandson Matt, who always made him smile, to his wife Toni, the love of his life, to family and friends and close neighbors who offered their prayers and words of support to Ken and our family, Thank You. The family would also like to thank his doctors and all the nurses who cared for him these last months.
