Obituary

Kenneth A. Martinez, age 56, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. He is survived by his mother, Marlene Martinez of Wilmington, his loving daughters Shannon and Mackenzee Martinez, both of Joliet, two grandchildren, Dante and Damien Godina, one brother, Ronald Martinez of Manhattan, one sister, Mary (Frank) Studer of Wilmington, two aunts, Fran Moody and Eleanor Rousonelos, one uncle, Raymond Martinez, one niece, Nicole Stroud, two nephews, Jimmy and Ben Studer, two great nieces, Allyson Martinez and Lainey Stroud, one great nephew, Hayden Stroud, many friends and his faithful canine companion, Shyann. Preceded in death by his father, Oliver "Babe" Martinez (2014) and his nephew, Ryan James Martinez. Ken was a Local 150 Operator for many years. He enjoyed fishing, splitting wood, watching a good football game, he loved gardening and could be found doing yard work on almost any given day. He also played a good game of cards, especially Poker and Rummy. Ken was a simple man, he had many friends from all walks of life, he was generous, kind, and thoughtful, he was deeply loved by his family and he will be profoundly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be greatly appreciated. Funeral service for Kenneth will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan.
