Kenny Lloyd Moody, age 75, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL with his family by his side. Born in Elizabeth, MS in 1940, he moved to IL in 1966. He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 2000 after thirty-five years of service. Kenny was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning beans and tomatoes every year for his family and friends. He also enjoyed caring for many four-legged friends which included cats, dogs, and horses. Other past times included carpentry and handyman work. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn R. (nee Smith) Moody, whom he married January 21, 1961; two daughters, Melinda (Terry) Spreitzer and Brenda (Lyle) Ensz. He was the loving Pa-paw to four grandchildren; Ryan (Chelsey) Spreitzer, Rachel Spreitzer, Jessica Wills, and Jason Wills. Also surviving are one sister, Betty Jean (Bob) Keeley; one brother, Chuck (Aleta) Moody; three sisters-in-law, Mary, Barbara, and Betty Ann Moody; numerous nieces and nephews; and his "Little Man", Wiggles, his Lhasa Apso. Preceding him in death were his parents, Jason H. and Wilma A. Moody; four brothers, Jason, William, John, and Marvin (Dot) Moody; and three sisters, Lucille (Marvin) Saulter, Dorothy (Tommie) Bowers, and Marie (Chester) McNett; and mother-in-law, Donna Byer. Per Kenny's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Private services will be held at a later date.
