Linda Mae
Ball
January 21, 1949 – April 16, 2023
Linda Mae Ball, age 74, of New Lenox, passed away peacefully in her husband's arms surrounded by her three children on the morning of April 16, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Wayne Ball, devoted children Wayne (Devin) Ball, Michael Ball, and Kristin (William) Smith, adoring grandchildren Emilia "Emmi" Ball, and Carli, Caden and Claire Smith, sister Barbara (Bill) Sieczkowski, brother Charles "Bud" (Paula) Carlson and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mabel Carlson and two brothers Robert and Wilbur Carlson. Linda was a graduate of Illinois State University earning her bachelor's degree in teaching. Linda taught grade school up until she had children of her own and it was at this time that she became a full-time wife and mother. Linda embraced motherhood and was very involved in her childrens activities and sports. She naturally fell into the soccer mom role and her world quickly became full time soccer everything. Linda became the manager of the Hallmark Sports Club and over the years was involved with Chicago Magic and Chicago Fire. Somehow Linda still found time for a good book, a little Luke Bryan, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the family tradition of taking the entire family to the cottage in Michigan and living the lake life. Linda was "larger than life", she was the perfect blend of sweet, loving, and inappropriate, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial visitation for Linda will be on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 3-7:00 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the same evening at 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 or by clicking on the following link https://lightways.org/donate/donate , would be most appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St., Manhattan, IL 60442, 815-478-3321, www.forsythegouldfh.com.
