Lloyd Edward Brandau, age 88, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn (nee Wesolowski) Brandau, three sons; Michael (Kathy) Brandau of MN, James (Kathy) Brandau of Manhattan, and Thomas (Julie) Brandau of Manhattan, one daughter, Karen (Wally) Krause of Manhattan, one brother, Vernon "Bud" Brandau of AZ, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mamie Brandau. Lloyd was a long time farmer in the Tinley Park area and in his later years, he farmed in Manhattan. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, he was a member of the Cook County Farm Bureau, a Life Member of the VFW, Post 2791 and American Legion Post 615, lifetime member of the NRA and was a lifelong member of the Tinley Park United Methodist Church. Lloyd was a hard working farmer, his work ethic could not be surpassed, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and his warm smile and friendly demeanor will be missed. Visitation for Lloyd Brandau will be Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 3-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Melwin Alagodi officiating. Interment with military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
