Margaret Leon Uthe-Fruendt (nee Gabor), age 95, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with family at her side. She is survived by her seven children; Barbara (Richard) Toepper, Cathy (Michael) Conner, William (Marianne) Uthe, Luann (Robert) Widlowski, Jacquelyn (Randall) Darby, Richard (Debra) Uthe, and Roberta (Phillip) McMurtrey, 27 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Gabor, her first husband Frederick W. Uthe, her second husband Melvin Fruendt and her daughter Sharon A. Subbert. Margaret was an active member of the Lutheran Church for over 70 years and most recently Sanctuary in Manhattan. She cherished her faith and was immersed in her family her entire life. Visitation for Margaret will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at 12:00 noon with Pastor Dan Hudson officiating also at the funeral home. Interment Skyline Memorial Park.
