Marilyn Klimek (nee Schoop), age 83, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. She is survived by her children; Susan (William) Brooks of Wilmington, Elizabeth (James) Quigley of Manhattan, and John (Debbie) Klimek of Elwood, her grandchildren; Kevin, Kathryn, and Robert Nelson, Sarah, Stephen, Matthew (Lindsay) and Andrew Quigley, and Johnny Klimek, her great grandchildren; Tessa, Jett, and "baby on the way" Quigley, one brother, William Schoop, and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Florence (nee Kirstein) Schoop, her husband, John Klimek (2012), one sister, Helen Engelhardt and one brother, Ralph Schoop. Marilyn attended the one room school house that used to be on Baker Road, she was a graduate of Peotone High School and after meeting and marrying John, she became a homemaker and raised her children. Funeral service for Marilyn will be private. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Joliet Area Community Hospice for their continuous care and much appreciated support throughout Marilyn's stay.
