Age 72, of Manhattan, IL, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. Born August 13, 1943 in Morocco, IN to the late Charles Adam and Dorothy Ellen (nee Swartz) Bennett. Member of the Green Garden United Methodist Church. She enjoyed card games, Bunco, video gaming, and fishing. She also enjoyed wintering to the Saint Cloud, FL area with her loving husband, Bill. Jean had many hobbies, but her favorite was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of fifty-four years, William Davis of Manhattan, whom she married August 19, 1961 in Green Garden; one daughter, Tammy (Craig) Bowdre of Peotone, IL; two grand-daughters, Dawn (Aaron) Love and her family, Jared, Tyler, and Kaylee and Lori (Kevin) Phillips, and her family, Jacob and Kariel; one sister, Patricia (Myron) Doty of Morocco, IN; one brother, Larry (Suzanne) Bennett of Braidwood, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her son, Thomas Davis; one sister, Diana Bennett; and one brother, Henry Bennett. Funeral services will be at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be Wednesday, from 3-7 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
