Mary Gast, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Nellie (nee Murphy) Gast, her brothers, Floyd, Raymond, Stanton, and Willard. She is survived by one brother, Donald (Vera), one sister-in-law, Barb Gast, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born in Manhattan, IL and was employed by the U.S. Government as a Computer Systems Analyst at Joliet Arsenal in Illinois, the Accounting and Finance Center in Denver, CO, and the Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C. before retiring in 1979. Mary moved to Bradenton, Fl in 1984 and in 2003 moved to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Angels, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet, IL 60435. Family will be receiving friends at Our Lady of Angels from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan, IL.
