Mary Lane Mayer, age 90, of Elwood formerly of South Holland, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2020 at her home with family at her side. She is survived by her children Anne (Mike) Radatz and Christine (Mike Barkley) Mayer and dear friends Jennifer & Ray, Elaine, Pat and Barb and grandmother to 4 faithful canine companions. Preceded in death by her parents Murray I and Mary (nee Broderick) Otstott and three brothers and sisters-in-law William (Dorothy) Otstott, Murray II (Hermenia) Otstott and Thomas (Rea) Otstott. Mary Lane was graduate from Barat College receiving her BA in finance. She worked at Continental Bank until she met her husband, Clair. Clair and Mary Lane lived in Chicago until 1963. They moved to South Holland in 1963 and lived there until 2004 when she made her final move to Elwood. Mary Lane enjoyed many hobbies, among her favorites were crafts and craft shows, resale and antique shopping and flea markets. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bulls. Mary Lane was a loving mother and friend and she will be dearly missed. Visitation for Mary Lane will be Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Friday, July 24, 2020 beginning with prayers at 9:30 A.M. from Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North St, Manhattan, for 10:00 A.M.
