Merle Eugene Waller, age 82, of Joliet, passed away peacefully April 2, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty (nee Engebretson) Waller, his children; Jan (Bill) Eaton, Steve (Adrienne) Waller, Dawn (Jim) Glenn, Beth (Larry) Bravato, Daniel (Mary) Waller and Jon (Paula) Waller, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his brother, Rolly (Faye) Waller. Preceded in death by his parents Hiram and Mae (nee Corcoran) Waller. Merle retired from Statesville Penitentiary after 23 years where he worked as a correctional officer. Merle had many hobbies, he enjoyed golfing, bird watching, gardening, and wood working to name a few, but, most of all, spending time with his family was what brought him most joy. Private family services were held. Memorials in Merle's name to Our Lady of Angels would be most appreciated.
