Michael Raymond Eckhart, age 58, of Mesa, AZ, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in San Diego, CA on August 15, 2021. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Tina M. (Garland) Eckhart. Loving brother-in-law to Deb Gollick, Daria (Greg) Mace, Christine (Scott) Ellerbrock, Mary Alice (Grant Weber), Martinez, Jean Ann (Jeff) Meyerhoff. Loving brother to sisters Kim (Tom) McCarl, Penny (Ray) KItson, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Marc and Rose Eckhart, in-laws William and Alice Garland, grandparents Raymond and Ernestine Eckhart, Arthur and Elva Ritcher, brother Jeffrey Smith and his loving pets Harley, Chopper, Meisha, Badger and Iris. He was a graduate of Joliet Central High School of 1980. Mike was a devoted husband who touched many lives with his generosity and passion for life, he will be greatly missed. Mike always made others laugh, he said "If I make you laugh once a day that makes me happy!!" He enjoyed motorcycle riding, bicycling, bird watching, swimming, and fishing. He loved playing albums, especially Led Zeppelin. Please remember Mike when you hear his favorite song "Stairway to Heaven". A private Celebration of Life will be held in his memory.
