Michael T. Walsh, age 65, of Elwood, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday, December 07, 2016, at his home. He is survived by his sister Patricia (Phil) Carlos, three brothers, Joseph (Mary Jane) Walsh, Dennis Walsh, and Timothy (Cindy) Walsh, his nieces and nephews, Michael (Carolyn) Kavanaugh, John (Lisa) Kavanaugh, Brigid Walsh, Thomas Walsh, Megan Walsh, Jacob Walsh, Nicole (Jeff Bonarek-fiancé) Walsh and Kelly (Chris) Roberts, his great nieces and nephews, Holly, Haley, and Taylor Kavanaugh, Adelaide and Owen Roberts, his dear and loving friend, Penny Stanley and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, T. Raymond and Margaret (nee Foreman) Walsh, one brother-in-law, Terrence Kavanaugh, and one sister-in-law, Janet (Nugent) Walsh. Michael was born and raised in Elwood. He farmed his entire life and was a lifelong member of the Will County Farm Bureau, and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Wilmington. Michael will be remembered for his kind and generous disposition, always lending a helping hand to fellow farmers, friends, family and neighbors. Funeral service will be 9:30 A.M., Saturday, December 10, 2016 from Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North St. Manhattan, for 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2016 from 3-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington.
