Myra S. Cicuto, age 71 of Joliet, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Medical Center on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Survived by her two daughters Nicole (Michael) Hughes and Tiffany (Sonny) Sabatini, her grandchildren Serena, Donovan, Landon and Xander Hughes, and Ashlynn and Caitlynn Sabatini, her siblings Annetta (Dale) Teeter and Donna Williams, her nieces and nephews Dawn (Jim) Nicosia, Destiny Williams, Brian Jarvis, Darren Jarvis, Alan (Sherri VonSande) Teeter, Dale (Kelly) Teeter and Carol (Chuck) Hurt and her faithful canine companion "Willow". Preceded in death by her parents Woodrow and Emma (nee Merril) Rector, her husband Scott Cicuto, her sister and brother-in-law Pauletta and George Fry and her brother Craig Rector. Myra was a graduate of Tinley Park High School. She has fond memories of her job at Dunkin Donuts in her early twenties where she made some lifelong friends. Myra then worked for several years for Kusay Financial Services as a Bookkeeper, she considers those fellow workers family. Myra had many past times including Jigsaw puzzles, reading, taking care of her plants, her garden and all her flowers. Myra had a green thumb and could keep anything alive. Myra also took great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren, having sleepovers with Twizzlers and Pepsi and watching movies were some of her fondest memories. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation for Myra will take place on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 3-7:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan. Funeral service will take place the same evening at 7:00 P.M. also at the funeral home. Inurnment will be the following day, Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2:30 P.M. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. While Myra would have loved a room full of flowers, the family is requesting the following donations in Myra's name in lieu of flowers to Joliet Animal Control, where "Willow" was from, 2807 McDonough St., Joliet, IL 60436 or to the Lustgarten Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Research by visiting www.lustgarten.org or to the charity of your choice would be most appreciated.
