Myrna Joan Wright (nee Moore) passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2025. Myrna was born on May 17th, 1936, in Streator, IL. The daughter of John and Vivian Moore and sister to James (Bev) Moore, Grace (Warren) Clark and Bruce (Poonie) Moore. Myrna is survived by the love of her life Richard. They were married June 18, 1955, and raised four children, Debra (Steve Dunbar) Brimm, Glen (Rhonda) Wright, Dwayne (Kelly Rose) Wright, and DiAnn (Michael) Skala. Myrna was a loving grandmother to Ashley Wright, Lacey (Jeremy) Martyka, Lauren (Brent Dawson) Wright, and Brittney (Joseph) Skala-Ducci and four great-grandchildren Arianna, Gabriella, Levi and Olivia. Myrna and Richard lived in Lockport, IL and Manhattan, IL for the past 67 years. When Myrna's children were all of school age, she went to work at Homer School District 33C as the secretary to the principal. She retired many years later from that position which she loved. Myrna and her family always lived a country life and raised and showed American Quarter Horses. She was happiest working in the barn after retiring. She loved to travel; her and Richard visited many places together. Myrna loved her family and always wanted to do something for everyone. She was the ultimate caregiver. Myrna lived by the motto, "Life is short so eat a dessert first." A hot fudge sundae first and if she was still hungry then some soup. She raised her family to enjoy the sweet things. Myrna was always cooking something, and her kitchen was open 24/7. Myrna was loved by everyone, and her kindness will truly be missed by those lives she touched.
