Nancy A. Barnard, age 91 of Elwood, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, surrounded by her dearest family. Survived by her son Darrell (Marian) Barnard, grandchildren Nichole (Eric) Wood and Ryan (Meghan) Barnard, great-grandchildren Kaaden, Finnley, and Giddeon Wood and Carter and Lillian Barnard, and honorable caretaker Eileen Kardelis. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene “Gene” Barnard, her parents, 3 brothers and a sister, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nancy was born and raised in Ohio. In her early adulthood, she met and married the love of her life, Gene, then gave birth to their son, Darrell. They worked hard for their family and enjoyed over 50 wonderful years of marriage together before his passing in 2014. She carried out the rest of her years in Illinois with the company and care of her son and daughter-in-law. A cherished mother, grandma, and great-grandma who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
