Norma J. Spiess, nee Kadow, age 86, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice House. She is survived by 2 sons; Ricky (Diane) Kassman of Ornaga and Richard (Joleen) Kassman of Texas, one daughter Denice (Paul) Woodcock of Manhattan, 4 granddaughters; Kathy (Chad) Bertrand, Jennifer (Thomas) Tibbitts, Alicia (Michael) Everton, Lindsey (Matthew) Pickham, 5 grandsons; Edward Kassman, James ( Rebecca) Kassman, Jeremy (Sharon) Kassman, Drew Kassman and Jerome (Heather) Spiess, 9 great grandchildren with twins on the way, 5 great-great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Preceded in death by her husband Walter, parents Chester and Irene Kadow, one son Michael Spiess and one sister Susan Schwab. Norma was drawn to books and often would read through one in a day's time. She loved her family and spent lots of time with her grandchildren. Memorial Service for Norma J. Spiess will be Monday, June 4, 8:00 pm, at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of service, 8:00 pm. Memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be most appreciated.
