Obituary

Patricia M. Chirico (nee Sayles), age 84, of Elwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 with family at her side. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years Rocco "Roy", her children John (Lisa) Chirico, Susan Chirico and Daniel (Carrie) Chirico, grandchildren Anthony (Arielle) Chirico, Callista (Michael Stocksdale) Cromwell, Emma Cromwell, Devi Chirico, Evan Chirico, sisters Marilyn Tucker and Suzanne Liembacher and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Florence Sayles. Patricia grew up in Gary Indiana. She was a graduate of Emerson High School. She worked for many years at Frankfort School District and later Professional Development Alliance both as a bookkeeper. Patricia was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manhattan, Frankfort Area Retired Teachers and the Joliet and Manhattan Elwood Quilting Groups. Patricia was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family before herself, she had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Visitation for Patricia will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St., Manhattan. Mass of Christian Burial will be the same morning at 11:00 A.M. also at the church with Fr. John Lindsey officiating. Private burial will be the Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
