Patricia S. Curran (nee McQueen), age 66, of Manhattan, passed peacefully at her home with her family around her on Monday, November 25, 2013. She was born in Joliet on May 21, 1947 to Raymond and Rita Ritchie McQueen. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Robert Curran, three sons; Michael (Kelly) of Joliet and Joseph and James of Manhattan. One daughter Katie (Steven) Short also of Manhattan, three grandchildren Kayla, Michael and Maya, her mother Rita McQueen and one brother Bud McQueen both of Manhattan, one sister Roberta (Brian) Brave of N.C., nieces Melissa (David) Phillip of Shorewood, Rita Brave of Maryland, one nephew Alek Brave of N.C., two great nephews Brendan and Noah Phillip of Shorewood. Many cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her father Raymond McQueen (1984), one sister Kathryn McQueen (1959) and one niece Theresa Cox (1984).
Pat has been a member of St. Joseph Parish in Manhattan since 1966. She has been a committed caregiver for many in the community over the years. She is one of the founders of Operation Care Package in 2003 which has benefitted thousands of our service men overseas.
Funeral service for Patricia S. Curran will be 9:30 A.M. Friday, November 29 from Forsythe Funeral Home, Manhattan, to St. Joseph Church for Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 A.M. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Visitation Wednesday, November 27 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The Rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. Memorials to St. Joseph Church or Operation Care Package would be most appreciated.
