Paul James McAllister, age 79, of Mokena passed away peacefully at Meadowbrook, Bolingbrook, on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Survived by his dear brother-in-law Dr. Edward (Elaine) Gordon, son-in-law Rick Dunn, loving grandchildren Conor, Colin and Brady, and cherished companion and friend Maggie. Preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Edythe (nee Bergstrom) McAllister, stepmother Nora (nee McMahon) McAllister, his wife Marilyn (nee Gordon) McAllister, son Mark McAllister, and his daughter Paula (McAllister) Dunn. Paul is a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces where he served in Korea and Germany in Army Intelligence in the late 60's. He started working in the communications industry and began using computers when they were first introduced in business settings. In later years, Paul continued his writing career and self-published two books, one of which is an autobiography about growing up on the southside of Chicago in the 1950's. Paul loved his family, writing, musicals and meditation. Paul will be remembered lovingly by his family. Paul wrote, "Remember I love you. I'll save you a comfortable spot in the Spirit World." Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Linus Catholic Church, 10300 Lawler Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Inurnment will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's name to any food depository would be most appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S.
