Peggy June Powell, age 89, of Frankfort passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side on Friday, August 31, 2018. She is survived by her children; Candy (John) Partilla, Debora (Lou) Smith and Steve (Sue) Powell, her grandchildren; Shelly (Jim) Tozzi, Jamey Partilla, Jennifer (Doug) Cherven, Michael Smith, Scott (Colleen) Powell and Shannon Powell, her great grandchildren; Luca, Lily, Jason, William, Allison and one on the way, nieces, nephews and her faithful canine companion Niki. Preceded in death by her Parents Cecil and Mattie (nee Campton) Horsley, her husband William Powell (1990), two grandchildren; Stacey Partilla and Jana Smith, her brother Leroy Horsley and her sister Betty Horsley. Peggy was born in Hindsboro, IL. She was a graduate of Brocton High School, Brocton, IL. Peggy had many hobbies, playing cards, occasionally the organ, gardening, fishing, hunting for morel mushrooms and camping with her grandchildren at Goose Lake Recreation Club. Peggy especially liked to cook for her family and has been known for her delicious apple pie, potato salad, and chicken and noodles. Peggy had one prized possession and that was her 1994 Mustang GT convertible, white with the red pony package interior. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed. Visitation for Peggy will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, next to her husband.
