Raymond L. Koehler, age 91, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at home with family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Lois (nee Andres) Koehler, son Lynn (Kathy) Wehrmann, special nephew Don (Faith) Koehler, niece Carol (Larry) Hawes, grandchildren Joe Wehrmann, Dan Delaney and Josh (Megan) Paul, great grandchildren Aydan, Kaleb, Brody, Mia and Ava, great nephews Matthew Koehler, Jonathan Koehler and Steven (Stephanie) Neimann and sister-in-law Evelyn Koehler. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Emma "Dolly" Koehler and his brother, business partner and best friend Gerald Koehler. Ray graduated from Peotone High School and he was a lifetime farmer in the Manhattan and Peotone Area. Ray was member of the Will County Farm Bureau, a lifetime active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the Peotone Sportsman's Club. Ray also served on the Manhattan Center Cemetery Association Board and St. Paul's Board of Directors. Ray had a strong work ethic, he was a humble man, his word was a promise and a promise was not to be broken. Visitation for Ray will be Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 2-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 27, 2018 also at the funeral home with Rev. Carol Currier-Frighetto officiating. Interment Manhattan Center Cemetery, Manhattan.
