His interests showed just how much pleasure he took in the world's natural beauty. He loved to go out fishing and camping through the years, especially at the Thousand Trails campground that he and Marion had countless experiences with. His skills in woodworking further showed off his creativity and appreciation of the earth around him. He also adored tending to his garden at home in his later years.
Rich was a life-long supporter of the Chicago White Sox, taking the highs and lows with stride in loyalty. As an avid bowler back in the day, he harnessed a competitive spirit in his sportsmanship.
He also took pleasure and found peace in crossword puzzles. He is celebrated for a life well lived and cherished for the memories and knowledge he gifted to his family. A devoted husband, Pa, and Peepaw who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Rich will be private for family only. Cremation will follow. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St., Manhattan, IL 60442, 815-478-3321, www.forsythegouldfh.com.
