Rita McQueen (nee Ritchie), age 96, late of Wilton Center, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Presence St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee. Survived by 1 son, Bud McQueen of Manhattan, 1 daughter Roberta (Brian) Brave of NC., 1 son-in-law, Robert Curran of Manhattan, 7 grandchildren; Mike (Kelly) Curran, Katie (Steve) Short, Joe Curran, Jim Curran, Missy (Dave) Phillip, Rita (Jon) King and Alek Brave, 5 great grandchildren; Kayla, Michael and Maya Short, and Brendan and Noah Phillip. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora (nee Kelly) Ritchie, her husband Raymond (1984), 2 daughters, Kathryn McQueen and Patricia Curran, 1 granddaughter, Theresa Cox. Rita retired from the Manteno State Hospital after many years serving as a clerk. She was a long time member of St. Patrick's Church in Wilton Center and a long time leader of the Grove Queens 4H club. Funeral Service for Rita McQueen will be 10:15 A.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from the Forsythe Funeral Home, Manhattan, to St. Patrick Church, Wilton Center for 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at Mt. St. Patrick Cemetery, Wilton Center.
