Robert M. Rauman, age 76, of Elwood, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Robert was born July 3, 1937 in DeKalb to John and Maria Rauman, he grew up in Joliet and graduated from JTHS, class of 1955. He was a long time employee of N.I. Gas, a member of Elwood Community Church, Meneoka Sportsman's Club, and Jackson Twp. Twilighters, he enjoyed fishing all of his life and he loved the Chicago Bears. Robert was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend, and his greatest joys were his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Beverly (nee Mudroch), his children, Mark (Maureen), Melody, and Mindy (Brett) Danforth, six grandchildren, Michael, Bradley, Justin, Jane, Chelsea and Claudia, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Eino (Becky) Rauman and Jerry (Joan) Mudroch, sisters-in-law, Doris Rauman, Reva Rauman, Margaret Mudroch, Mary Ann Mudroch, several nieces and nephews, cousins in Finland, and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Martin and Jane Mudroch, his brothers, John, Toivo, and Richard, his sisters, Betty, Helen, and Martha, and his Brothers-in-law, John and Martin Mudroch. A memorial service will be at Elwood Community Church, 101 S. Chicago Ave, Elwood, IL, on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00a.m. until the time of service with Pastor Carrie Kapral officiating.
