Obituary

Robert "Bob" James Riley, age 85, of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Born January 19, 1937, in Joliet and grew up in Manhattan. Bob attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Manhattan and Joliet Catholic High. Robert worked as a salesman at numerous businesses in the Joliet area including Polk Brothers, Turk Furniture, Frank Kane Motors, and Barton Carrolls. He was a member of Moran A.C., South Side Civic Club, and a member of the Ravens Club since 1979 where he was affectionately known as "Rockdale Riles". Bob was the loving father of Cheri (Kenneth) LeRoy, Robert (Shelia) Riley, Robin Riley, Deborah Riley, Michael Riley and Terri Mutz, grandfather to Danielle Knowles, Kenneth LeRoy, Nicole LeRoy, Amanda Wagner, Angel Mutz, Kevin Riley, Renee Bill, Justin Bill, eight beautiful great grandchildren and three adorable great great grandchildren, his siblings Madeline (Pete) Bird, Marilyn (Greg) Gustafson, Myrtle (John) Briggs, Rene (Todd) Bennett, his sister-in-law Brenda Riley, loving, caring friend Patricia Riley and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary (nee Manning) Riley, his son Timothy Riley, his grandson John Bill, his brother Thomas Riley and his sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Lou and Jerry Wickham, Marjorie and Roger Smith and Mildred and John Flanagan. Visitation for Robert will be on Sunday, August 14, 2022, from 4-7:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the following day on Monday, August 15, 2022, beginning with prayers at 9:30 followed by procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St., Manhattan for 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan. Arrangements entrusted to Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S.
