Robert “Rob” Corbin, age 66 of Lake Village, IN, left us on Monday, September 21st, 2026, passing peacefully at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Leann (née Huddleston); his mother Marie (née Draves); his brothers Jim, Mike, Jeff (Debbie), and Greg (Dawn); and his children, Ashley (Jeremy) Justice, Justin Corbin, and Morgan Whorrall. Rob is also survived by his many beloved grandchildren, Kaden, Parker (Yasmine), Xander, Maddox, Willow, and Roman, and his many nieces and nephews. Rob is preceded in death by his father, Harold, and great grandson, Romeeo.

Rob lived an extremely full life, surrounded by love, cars, and nature. A graduate of Joliet Junior College, he had an associate’s degree in agriculture. He was a mechanic and paint shop manager by trade, working in the ag and trucking industries for 48 years before retiring in January of this year. Even outside of his career at Agro and Anker Trucking, he was a dedicated “car guy”; when he was just 15, he purchased a 1949 GMC pickup truck and was just beginning to restore it.

Outside of landscaping and cars, though, his true love was his wife Leann. Their story starts like most good stories do: a concert at Hooter’s, and the rest is history. Rob called Leann once a day, every single day, from their first date on—he knew she was the one for him. The two of them still have the Hooter’s cups from that very first date in their china cabinet today. Anyone who knew Rob or Leann knew just how much fun they were together, and those who didn’t have the joy of knowing them personally definitely knew their lawn!

Rob’s subdivision knew him and the Corbin household as “the green square." If you look up their neighborhood on Google Maps, I promise you, you’ll know which lot was theirs. The Corbin house was also nicknamed the Corbin Homestead, Land of Swirling Winds, and Rob himself was the neighborhood “Summer Santa." But whatever you called their house, the yard’s green perfection was undeniable. In retirement, Rob’s favorite hobby was mowing the lawn. Yes, really. Family, friends, and neighbors would often compare it to a golf course or a bright green carpet. The beautiful work Rob put into the green square will certainly keep his memory alive. Until we see him again, he’ll be planting a new garden for Leann and his family to enjoy in eternity.

Visitation for Rob will be held at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in Manhattan on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:30am until the time of his Funeral Service at 1:00pm. Procession to Manhattan Center Cemetery, Manhattan, IL will immediately follow.
