Robert C. Watson, age 78, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Louise (nee Lawrence) Watson, his two cherished daughters, Brenda (Phil) Valera and Linda (Pat) McLaughlin, four grandchildren who were the lights of his life, Jacob and Julia Valera, and Lindsay and Kelsey McLaughlin, his great grandson and his best buddy, Jaxon Dearing, his brother Kinzel (Barb) Watson, numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored, many special friends too many to list, and his four legged companion, Dusty. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace Watson, his son, Jeffrey Scott, his brother, Ken Watson, his sister, Ella Frye and two grandsons, Patrick McLaughlin and Nicholas Valera. Bob proudly served in the US Army from September 1954 - September 1956. He was an entrepreneur of numerous businesses including, Trucking Co, Pizza Box, Watson Lawn Equipment, Gallagher's Pub, Dreamy Delite and most recently Watson Diner and Pub. Bob was a "people person" who knew someone no matter where he went, he never knew a stranger and would give you the shirt off of his back. Bob was loved by all and will truly be missed. Visitation for Bob will be Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 3-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. with Karl Watson officiating, also at the Funeral Home. Interment with full Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society would be most appreciated.
