Obituary

Roger G. Turnbough Age 57, of New Lenox, IL passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. Born September 4, 1958 in Joliet to the late Darrell and Florence (nee Tipton) Turnbough. Graduate of the Lincoln Way High School, Class of 1976. He then married his high school sweetheart, Diane Borden in 1977. He became a journeyman Carpenter and was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local #916. He was proficient in all phases of construction. He was an avid supporter and greatly encouraged his three sons to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a charter member of the Lincoln Way Area Chorale and the American Association of Woodturners. Roger was a proud father and loving grandfather, he loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving wife of thirty eight years, Diane Turnbough of New Lenox; three beloved sons, Brian (Brooke) Turnbough of Mokena, IL, Bradley (Sheng) Turnbough of East Peoria, IL, and Eric (Amanda) Turnbough of New Lenox; four grandsons, Alvander, Onjue, Emmitt, and Adam; one granddaughter, Anna, and one on the way; two brothers, Kenneth (Mary) Turnbough and Robert ( Peggy) Turnbough; two sisters, Wilda "Arlone" (the late Norman) Legner and Linda (Scott) Hamende; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Darrell Ray and Richard Turnbough; father and mother in law, Glenn and Olidene Borden; and brother-in-law, James Borden. Funeral services will be at the St. Paul United Church of Christ: 140 Thelma St., Manhattan, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Carol Currier-Frighetto officiating. Visitation Monday, May 9, from 3-8 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, Manhattan and again from 9:30 a.m. until his time of service at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
