Ronald W. Hovey Sr., age 76, of Manhattan, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights. He is survived by eight daughters; Kathy (Leonard) Mackowiak of Alsip, Kelly Hovey of Peotone, Kim (Mark) Klene of New Lenox, Cory Hovey of Florida, Crissy (Mike) Kraft of Peotone, Karolyn Hovey of New Lenox, Carleena (John) Lorden of Indiana and Robin (Todd) Kutina of Elwood, one son, Ronald Hovey Jr. of Manhattan, twenty-one grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Marion Hovey of Wheaton and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Laura (nee Calvin) Hovey, his wife, Penne G. Hovey (nee Adamson) 1989, one daughter, Karen Hovey, 2009, one infant grandson, five sisters and four brothers. Ron was born and raised in Oak Lawn, he was a handy man and owned and operated "Ron's Home Repair". He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He was known to many as "Pops" and he will be missed. Funeral service for Ron will be 7:00p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Forsythe Funeral Home.
