Ruth T. Lamaster, D.N. (nee Phelps), age 82, of Crestwood, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 with family at her side at her daughter's home in Manhattan. She is survived by her children; Tom Lamaster of Chicago, Frank Lamaster of Godley, Mary Pruett of Athens, Alabama, Paul (Barb) Lamaster of Crestwood, Laura (Bob) Grice of Manhattan, Catherine Lamaster of Monee, and Cecelia (Bob) Mazanke of St. Charles, thirteen grandchildren; Megan, Carleen, Lauren, Luke, Angela, Jeni, Paul, Bobby, Erin, Brian, Jim, Jake, and Alexandra, seven great grandchildren, three brothers, Ken Phelps, Bob Phelps, and Jim (Carol) Phelps, one sister, Peggy (Larry) Barry, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Clifford, her parents, Roland and Cecelia (nee Corbett) Phelps, two brothers, Buddy and Paul Phelps, one sister, Mary Louise, two sisters-in-law, Amy and Dorothy Phelps and one granddaughter, Stephanie Pruett. Ruth was a graduate of Mercy High School and she spent one year in convent with the Poor Clares. Meeting Clifford, she left the convent and married. After having her 7th child, she attended the Chicago College of Naprapathy becoming, Ruth Lamaster, D.N. Ruth's family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4-8:00 p.m. at Forsythe Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 14, 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home in procession to St. Joseph Church, 235 West North Street, Manhattan for 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
