Ryan M. Adkins, age 40, of Joliet formerly of Manhattan, passed away after a courageous battle with Bile Duct Cancer on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet with his loving family at his side. Survived by his parents, Rich and Lynda Adkins, his wife Katrina (nee Bordner) Adkins, his children Alexa and Kaelynn Adkins and Kaleena and Kolsten Keene, his sister Reine (Tom) Walsh, his maternal grandparents Dave and Marlene Murphy, his paternal grandmother Yvonne Adkins, his mother-in-law Juta Bordner and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Glen Adkins. Ryan graduated from Lincoln-Way High School class of 2000. Ryan worked for Yorkville School District as the Director of Technology for several years. Ryan had many hobbies including traveling, golfing, boating, and cheering on the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears. Ryan took great pride in his children. He was a hands-on dad, attending their sporting events and supporting them in any way brought him most joy. Ryan was a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin and friend and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The Adkins family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Yorkville District Family for their unfailing support they provided Ryan and their entire family throughout his journey, your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. Visitation for Ryan will take place on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service for Ryan will take place the following day, Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. also at the funeral home. Cremation to follow. A private committal service will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan at a later date.
