Sandra K. Cooper (nee Barten), age 74, of Manhattan, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Edwin, step-children, Valerie Vorreyer and Wade (Eva) Cooper, grandchildren, Bobby Vorreyer, Eddie Vorreyer and Lorenzo Cooper, brother Dick (Linda) Barten, sisters, Donna (Danny) Geiss and Debbie Barten-South, brother-in-law, Lee Yunker, numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful canine companion, Ace. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Fern (nee Ruetz) Barten and her sister, Cheryl Younker. Sandy was a lifelong resident of the Manhattan area and graduated from Peotone High School. After graduation, she went to work for a law firm. Years later, she worked at Kerr Supply and Starcon International, where she retired from, as a bookkeeper. Sandy loved her dogs and in her spare time, enjoyed baking. She was famous for her cookies, zucchini bread and candy at Christmas time. Sandy was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, a dart league member for many years and took pleasure in going out for motorcycle rides with her husband.
