Obituary

Scott Mancke, age 72, of Manhattan Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at his home with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Victoria (nee Koelling) Mancke, his children Craig (Kelly) Mancke and Jamie (Josh) Cunningham, his grandchildren Michael, Kohlie and Collin Mancke, and Alex and Andi Cunningham, his sister Stacy (William "B.J." Johnson) Mancke, his step-mother Nancy (nee Kelly) Mancke, his sister-in-law Kim Ackerman, 125 chickens and his granddogs. Preceded in death by his father William W. Mancke (2023) and his mother Edith M. (nee Kipp) Mancke (1987). Scott was a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central High School (1971), Joliet Junior College (1973) and Illinois State University (1975) with his Bachelors of Science Degree in Agriculture Business. Scott then married the love of his life Victoria on September 20, 1975 and they settled in Manhattan Twp. where they raised their family. Scott worked in the farming industry for many years before becoming a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, he became a proud lifelong member, but he never stopped loving farming. Scott gave back to his community by volunteering on the Manhattan School District #114 board where he served as board president for many years and he was an instrumental part of growing the district. He also volunteered countless hours at the New Lenox American Legion and the Will County Sheriff's Department. A man of many hobbies he enjoyed beekeeping and harvesting honey, raising horses, cattle, chickens, and turkeys. His love for animals was boundless but his love for his family was infinite, spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren was what brought him most joy; he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial visitation for Scott will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 2pm-6pm at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home followed by a brief funeral service at 6pm. For those that are unable to attend the visitation and funeral at the funeral home, the family encourages you to find them that same evening following his services at the New Lenox American Legion Post #1977, 14414 Ford Dr., New Lenox, IL 60451 for his celebration of life which will take place from 6:30pm-9pm.
