Sharon Lee Sala (nee Gaefke), age 82, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at her home. Survived by her loving and devoted husband Robert Sala, children Jeffrey Vose and Randal (Linda) Vose, step children Jennifer (Todd) Sala-Haizlip and Angela Sala, grandchildren Tristan Sala, Zachary Haizlip, Brandi Sala, Brooke Hawk and Holly Vose, great grandson Ace, brother Louis (Teddy) Gaefke and nieces and nephews. Sharon was a graduate of Joliet Central High School. She also worked at Joliet Central H.S. in the Technology department for several years. Sharon enjoyed country line dancing at the Lockport Moose and was an instructor for a time. It was at the Lockport Moose that she met her husband, Bob. Sharon enjoyed gardening, watching the game show network, football and baseball and simply relaxing in the backyard with her husband. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation for Sharon will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 3-7:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the same evening at 7:00 P.M. also at the funeral home. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, at a later date.
