Terrence K. Shanahan "The Bull", age 64, passed away with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sherri, children, Terry Jr. (Shannon) Shanahan, David (Laura) Shanahan, Trevor (Emily) Shanahan, Kyle (Jasmine) Shanahan, Sarah Shanahan, grandchildren, Makenna, TJ, Jackson, Riley, Kaylene, Elizabeth, David Jr., Leilah, Leo and mother Katherine (nee Pelzman) Shanahan. Terry is also survived by his siblings, Bill (Judy) Shanahan, Pat (Sandy) Shanahan, Kathy Tarrant, Susan (Hank) Skala, Marty (Chris) Shanahan, Tim (Mary Lou) Shanahan, Gerry (Dawn) Shanahan, Eileen (Randy) Henning, Bob (Sue) Shanahan, Maureen (Kevin) Carter, Danny (Sherry) Shanahan, Colleen Shanahan, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companion Willow and cat Lilly. Terry is preceded in death by his grandson, Elliot Shanahan and father, William Shanahan (2000). Terry graduated from Lincoln-Way High School ('75). After high school, he began work as a concrete mason and eventually started his own business called Shanahan Concrete. Terry was also a member of the Cement Masons Local 11. Terry was a devout Bears fan and enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock. In his spare time, Terry spent his time lifting weights and was also a semi pro football player. He loved to mow the grass and tinker in the garage where he was known as "Mr. Fix-It". What gave Terry most joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren as he will be remembered as a good source of advice. Visitation for Terry will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place the same day at 5:30 P.M. also at the funeral home. Cremation to follow. While flowers are much appreciated, donations to the Shanahan family would help the most.
