Age 67, of Peotone, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. Thomas was born November 11, 1950 in Harvey, IL to the late Clarence and Florence (nee Simons) Tysse.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. Thomas received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University, as well as an Associates Degree in Electrical Electronics Automated Systems Technology from Joliet Junior College. He farmed in Wilton Township for numerous years, retired from Commonwealth Edison as a Senior Engineer Technician, was a chairman of the Wilton Township Planning Commission, and was very involved as a member of Wilton Center Federated Church.
Thomas was loved dearly by his family and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kimberly (nee Vander Meer) Tysse, whom he married October 29, 1977; his daughter Alice; his sisters, Nancy Gill of Sullivan, IL, Ruth (William) Herr of Lowell, IN, and Florence (William) Heintz of Rockford, IL; and his brother Clarence (Beverly) Tysse, Jr. of Dyer, IN.
Visitation for Thomas will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, 507 S. State St. (Rt. 52), Manhattan. Family and friends will meet Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Wilton Center Federated Church, 14101 W. Joliet Road, Manhattan, for funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be directed to Wilton Center Federated Church in Manhattan.
