Thomas L. Webster, age 83, of Manhattan passed away peacefully with family at his side, at Joliet Area Community Hospice on Thursday, April 26, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia (nee Heitzman), his children; Catherine (Thomas) Peplansky, Susan (Charles) Gray, Michael (Nancy) Webster, Thomas (Laurie) Webster, grandchildren; Richard Barr, Christine (Adam) Foley, Emily Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Caley (Jeff) Barnhart, Abigale (David) King, Morgan Webster, Matthew (Jessica) Gray, Megan Gray, Lucas Gray, Nicholas (Meghann) Rose, Christopher Rose, Grant Webster and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; Lott Webster and Louise Feist, two siblings; Robert Webster and Martha Webster, two daughters; Carolyn Barr and Patricia Rose. Thomas was a Police officer for over 28 years with the Cook County Sheriff's Police. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War, avid fisherman and known as a jokester extraordinaire. He enjoyed watching baseball and also was a history buff. Most of all he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. Visitation for Thomas will be Monday, April 30, 2018 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin with prayers at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the funeral home then traveling in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North Street, Manhattan, for 10:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In Lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom's name to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad would be most appreciated.
