Victor & Barbara
Golletz
September 1, 2022 – September 16, 2022
Golletz, Victor and Barbara
Victor H. Golletz, age 87, of Country Club Hills, IL, died Saturday, August
20, 2022 at River Crossing of Alton, IL. His wife, Barbara, preceded him in
death on January 25, 2022 at River Crossing of Edwardsville, IL.
Victor was born June 14, 1935 and grew up in Homewood, Illinois, the son
of the late Herbert F. and Anne-Liese (Henry) Golletz. Barbara was born
January 25, 1935 in Chicago Heights, IL, the daughter of the late Ora and
Dorothea (Anderson) Farrar.
Vic and Barbara were high school sweethearts, marrying in 1957 after Vic
graduated from the University of Nebraska. He retired from the US Marine
Corps Reserves as a Lt. Colonel and was self-employed as a business tax
consultant. Barbara was a busy homemaker raising four children, and later
delighted in watching her seven grandchildren grow. She was an avid
bridge player and reader while Vic was a lifelong musky fisherman in the
Northwoods.
They spent their retirement years traveling the country in their signature
white Cadillac. Their favorite visits were to the great national parks and to
Marine Corp reunions across the country. Vic kept many photo albums of
their adventures on display in their home. Both maintained close and
lifelong friendships with their dear friends from Bloom High School.
Vic and Barbara are survived by their four children: Jeff (Debbie) Golletz of
Littleton, CO; Laura (Jamie) Goggin of Edwardsville, IL; Dan (Kim) Golletz
of Corvallis, OR; and Andy (Brenda) Golletz of Palatine, IL; seven
grandchildren; one sister to Vic, Barbara Hanrahan of Vernon Hills, IL; and
a sister to Barbara, Shirley Attwood of Rialto, CA.
