Obituary

Viola E. Barlow (nee Darling), age 98, of Manhattan, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County with family at her side. Survived by her three sons; Gary, John and George Barlow all of Manhattan and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Russell Barlow (1991), her parents George and Lulu Heisner, her brother Theodore "Ted" Darling, and her sister Doris (Anthony) Costenero. Viola was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Will County Farm Bureau. Viola enjoyed gardening, an occasional card game, the Chicago Cubs and socializing with her neighbors. While staying at Sunny Hill, Viola looked forward to the bus trips and other outings. Viola always looked forward to spending time with her boys and her nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Viola will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Currier-Frighetto officiating. Visitation will be the same day from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 140 Thelma St. Manhattan, IL 60442 would be appreciated.
