Obituary

Wayne M. Demith, age 54, of New Lenox, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. Survived by parents Robert and Dolores Demith, sister Donna (Joe) Malone, brothers Robert Demith Jr., Tom (Colleen) Demith, Ken (Beth) Demith, beloved uncle of Mike (Cindy) Malone, Steve (Melissa) Malone, Robert Demith III, Nick (Angie) Demith, Greg Demith, Stephanie Demith, Becca Demith, Brian (Jen) Demith, Jennifer Demith, Michelle (Jake) Bittles, Kris Demith, Meghan Demith, and dearest uncle to many great nieces and nephews. Wayne was a very active member of the Orland Park District for several years and was a devoted employee of Red Lobster for over 20 years. Wayne earned several gold medals in many sports in the Special Olympics and was an avid dancer, especially whenever Elvis came on. He loved watching wrestling, MASH, and old westerns as well as being a ladies' man. Wayne led a life of normalcy despite the everyday challenges he was faced with. He overcame adversity at every level with the support of his parents and siblings who gave him the best life. Wayne loved taking family vacations to Branson. When offered a beer, Wayne would say he would have a beer (inspite of his being 50+ years old) but "my mom would kill me". Instead, Wayne enjoyed his root beer and Klondike bars. Wayne was also a huge Chicago Cubs fan, and he loved bowling. Wayne made an ever-lasting impact on everyone he met and he will be truly missed and never forgotten.
